Week of 10/10/16 Criminal Felony Convictions:

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio.  Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 10/10/2016 to 10/17/2016:

 

10/11/2016 - Jeffry William Short, 31 year old male from WOOSTER - Case No. 2016 CRC-I 000245

Convicted of Domestic Violence, M2, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2919.25(C). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 6 months. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Counseling: anger management and couples counseling.

 

10/12/2016 - Blake Andrew Williams, 34 year old male from RITTMAN - Case No. 2016 CRC-I 000204

Convicted of Robbery, F2, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2911.02(A)(1). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 3 years.

 

10/12/2016 - Joshua Kevin Boggs, 29 year old male from Wooster - Case No. 2016 CRC-I 000180

Convicted of Trafficking in Heroin, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.03(A)(1). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 100 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Participate in Thinking for a Change Program; Participate in Cognitive Behaviorial Group.

 

10/12/2016 - Jonathan P. Drennen, 24 year old male from Wooster - Case No. 2015 CRC-I 000240 - Probation

Violation Sentence

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of (with 1 year suspended) and Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years.  Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug /Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program; Participate in Drug Court; Participate in Cognitive Behaviorial Group.

 

10/12/2016 - Preston A. Yates, 25 year old male from Wooster - Case No. 2014 CRC-I 000267 - Probation Violation Sentence

Convicted of Receiving Stolen Property, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2913.51(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 10 months. The judge ordered: Court costs waived.

Credit for 32 days jail time served. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: PRC Notification Given.
