Week of 10/30/17 Criminal Felony Convictions:

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio.  Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 10/30/2017 to 11/6/2017:

 

11/1/2017 - Elias Samuel Lizarraga, 26 year old male from Orrville - Case No. 2015 CRC-I 000171 - Judicial ReleaseSentence

Convicted of Illegal Conveyance of Drugs of Abuse onto Grounds of a Specified Governmental Facility, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2921.36(A)(2). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. The judge ordered: Complete Reentry Court.   Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program; Participate in Cognitive Behaviorial Group.

 

11/1/2017 - Dale Jay Rogers, 22 year old male from Massillon - Case No. 2017 CRC-I 000254

Convicted of Fraudulent Actions Concerning a VIN, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 4549.62(D)(1). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 14 days. The judge ordered: Credit for 14 days jail time served. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees.

 

11/1/2017 - Jonathan Sewell, 29 year old male from Wooster - Case No. 2017 CRC-I 000305

Convicted of Possession of Drugs, F4, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of (with 1 year suspended) and Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment.

 

11/1/2017 - Devon Joseph Potts, 26 year old male from ORRVILLE - Case No. 2016 CRC-I 000329 - Probation Violation Sentence

Convicted of Possession of Heroin, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to the following conditions: Community control continued. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Complete Residential Drug/Alcohol Treatment at Pathway House.
