Week of 1/16/17 Criminal Felony Convictions:

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio. Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 1/16/2017 to 1/23/2017:

 

1/18/2017 - Aaron W. Mensching, 36 year old male from Creston - Case No. 2016 CRC-I 000226

Convicted of Theft, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2913.02(A)(1). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of (with 1 year suspended) and Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. The judge ordered: Potential sentences in Case Nos. 2016 CRC-I 000226 and 2016 CRC-I 000336 shall run consecutively. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Pay Restitution: $1,400.; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program; Participate in Cognitive Behaviorial Group.

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of (with 1 year suspended) and Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. The judge ordered: Potential sentences in Case Nos. 2016 CRC-I 000226 and 2016 CRC-I 000336 shall run consecutively. No purchase or possession of pseudoephedrine. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / MaintainGainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program; Participate in Cognitive Behaviorial Group.

 

1/18/2017 - Amere Alexander Robinson, 18 year old male from Wooster - Case No. 2016 CRC-I 000206 – Probation Violation Sentence

Convicted of Tampering With Evidence, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2921.12(A)(1) and 2 additional counts. Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to the following conditions: Community control continued. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Intensive Supervision Program.
