Week of 5/2/16 Criminal Felony Convictions:

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio.  Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 5/2/2016 to 5/9/2016:

 

5/4/2016 - Stacy T. Martin, 38 year old male from Wooster - Case No. 2015 CRC-I 000286

Convicted of Domestic Violence, M1, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2919.25(A). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to:  Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years and a fine of $500.00. Additionally the following conditions were imposed:  Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment.

 

5/4/2016 - Tristan Andrew Hartzler, 20 year old male from Wooster - Case No. 2015 CRC-I 000312

Convicted of Forgery, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2913.31(A)(3). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 60 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol /Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program.

 

5/4/2016 - Tristan Andrew Hartzler, 20 year old male from WOOSTER - Case No. 2016 CRC-I 000009

Convicted of Breaking and Entering, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2911.13(A). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years.

 

5/4/2016 - Jon A. Hiller, 24 year old from MANSFIELD - Case No. 2015 CRC-I 000307

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years and a driver's license suspension for 6 months. The judge ordered:  Pay child support as ordered. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Perform Community Service: 60 Hours; Obtain /Maintain Gainful Employment; Obtain GED or High School Diploma; Intensive Supervision Program; Participate in Cognitive Behaviorial Group.

 

5/4/2016 - Tommy Lee Jones, 28 year old male from Barberton - Case No. 2015 CRC-I 000220

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 1 year and a driver's license suspension for 6 months.

 

5/4/2016 - William M. Roberts, 38 year old male from SMITHVILLE - Case No. 2015 CRC-I 000094

Convicted of Gross Sexual Imposition, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2907.05(A)(4) and 4 additional counts. Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 5 years.

 

5/4/2016 - Christian James Smith, 22 year old male from Wooster - Case No. 2016 CRC-I 000005

Convicted of Aggravated Robbery, F1, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2911.01(A)(1) and 3 additional counts. Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 10 years. The judge ordered: No victims present in court, but court did read the victim impact statement of Lynee McDaid.  Court costs waived.

 

5/4/2016 - Bryan T. Luzier, 36 year old male from WOOSTER - Case No. 2014 CRC-I 000165 - Probation Violation Sentence

Convicted of Obstructing Official Business, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2921.31(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to the following conditions: Community control terminated. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees.

 

5/4/2016 - Deborah Sue Cook, 57 year old female from Wooster - Case No. 2014 CRC-I 000191 - Probation Violation Sentence

Convicted of Trafficking in Cocaine, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.03(A)(1) and 5 additional counts. Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 90 days. The judge ordered: Community control terminated.
