Week of 5/28/18 Criminal Felony Convictions:

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio.  Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 5/28/2018 to 6/4/2018:

 

5/29/2018 - Johnny Schwarz, 21 year old male from Dalton - Case No. 2018 CRC-I 000003

Convicted of Robbery, F2, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2911.02(A)(2). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 2 years. The judge ordered: Court will consider for judicial release.  Credit for 150 days jail time served. Court costs waived. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: PRC Notification Given.

 

5/30/2018 - Jenifer P. Brown, 25 year old female from Orrville - Case No. 2017 CRC-I 000036

Convicted of Petty Theft, M1, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2913.02(A)(1). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to:  Community Control sanctions in the amount of 5 years. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs /  Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Pay Restitution: $1500.00.

 

5/30/2018 - Clarence Betts, 31 year old male from WOOSTER - Case No. 2018 CRC-I 000186

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs (Methamphetamine), F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program; Participate in Cognitive Behaviorial Group.
