Week of 3/22/21 Criminal Felony Convictions::

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio.  Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 3/22/2021 to 3/29/2021:

 

3/23/2021 – Dante Manis, 23-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000481

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A) and one additional count. Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 8 days. The judge ordered: Credit for time served. Court costs waived.

 

3/23/2021 – Eric Shaw, 27 year old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000479

Convicted of Theft, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2913.02(A)(1). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 1 year and Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Pay Restitution: 5829.30.; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Participate in Cognitive Behavioral Group.

 

3/24/2021 – Travis Tester, 29-year-old male from RITTMAN – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000270

Convicted of Burglary, F2, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2911.12(A)(2). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 3 years and Post Release Control in the amount of 3 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Restitution: $190.00.

 

3/24/2021 – Philip Hofacker, 64-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000503

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs (Methamphetamine), F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 1 year. The judge ordered: Obtain housing Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department.

 

3/22/2021 – Nicholas Lang, 30-year-old male from ORRVILLE – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000106

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs (Methamphetamine), F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 6 months.

 

3/22/2021 – Nicholas Lang, 30-year-old male from ORRVILLE – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000534

Convicted of Trespass in a Habitation, F4, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2911.12(B). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 6 months.

 

3/22/2021 – Nicholas Lang, 30 year old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000592

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 6 months.
