Week of 8/9/21 Criminal Felony Convictions:

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio. Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 8/9/2021 to 8/16/2021:

 

8/11/2021 – Jacob Heilman, 37-year-old male from Orrville – Case No. 2018 CRC-I 000449

Convicted of Improperly Handling Firearms in A Motor Vehicle, F4, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2923.16(B). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: Post Release Control in the amount of 3 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 60 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Intensive Supervision Program; Forfeiture of Court ordered firearm stated in indictment is forfeited to the State of Ohio.  PRC Notification Given; Participate in Cognitive Behavioral Group.

 

8/11/2021 – Devlin Myers, 45-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000461

Convicted of Burglary, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2911.12(A)(3). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program; Participate in Cognitive Behavioral Group.

 

8/11/2021 – Aaron Marsh, 27-year-old male from West Salem – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000338

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A) and one additional count. Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 3 days, a fine of $500.00 and a driver’s license suspension for 1 year.
