Week of 6/20/22 Criminal Felony Convictions:

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio. Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 6/20/2022 to 6/27/2022:

6/21/2022 – Deangelo Cherrion Townsend, 33-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000433

Convicted of Domestic Violence, F4, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2919.25(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 6 months and Post Release Control in the amount of 2 years.

6/21/2022 – James M. Hegarty, 56-year-old male from Wooster – Case No. 2022 CRC-I 000158

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs (Methamphetamine), F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a fine of $100.00. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees.

6/22/2022 – Brandon Allan Toothman, 28-year-old male from AMHERST – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000092

Convicted of Possession of Heroin, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A) and one additional count. Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 6 months.

6/22/2022 – Eric Lee Copley, 39-year-old male from CRESTON – Case No. 2022 CRC-I 000032

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 25 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program.

6/22/2022 – Brandy Franklin, 30-year-old female from Wooster – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000442

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 1 year.

6/22/2022 – Brandy Ann Franklin, 30-year-old female from WOOSTER – Case No. 2022 CRC-I 000074

Convicted of Failure to Provide Notice of Change of Address, F4, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2950.05(F)(1). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 1 year, 6 months.

6/22/2022 – Brandy Franklin, 29-year-old female from WOOSTER – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000200

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 1 year.

Convicted of Failure to Provide Notice of Change of Address, F4, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2950.05(F)(1). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 1 year, 6 months.

6/22/2022 – Brian Helms, 25-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000283

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 6 months.

6/22/2022 – Brian Helms, 24-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000259

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 2 years, 6 months.

6/22/2022 – Brian Edward Helms, 25-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000280

Convicted of Having Weapons While Under Disability, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2923.13(A)(3) and one additional count. Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 2 years, 6 months.

6/22/2022 – Ryon L. Kling, 34-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000417

Convicted of Petty Theft, M1, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2913.02(A)(1). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 6 months. 6/23/2022 – Joseph William Stover, 27-year-old male from Rittman – Case No. 2022 CRC-I 000134

Convicted of Receiving Stolen Property, F4, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2913.51(A). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 6 months.
