A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio. Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 2/27/2023 to 3/6/2023:

 

3/1/2023 – Kriston Hugh Collins, 19-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000481

Convicted of Failure to Provide Notice of Change of Address, F1, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2950.05(F)(1). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 3 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program; Participate in Cognitive Behavioral Group.

 

3/1/2023 – Kriston Hugh Collins, 19-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000323

Convicted of Failure to Verify Address, F1, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2950.06(F). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 3 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs /Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program; Participate in Cognitive Behavioral Group.

 

3/1/2023 – Bruce Johnson, 18-year-old male from ORRVILLE – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000130

Convicted of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, F4, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2923.12(A)(2). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Participate in Cognitive Behavioral Group.

 

3/1/2023 – Joshua Albert Dipietro, 43-year-old male from ASHLAND – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000297

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs (Methamphetamine), F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 6 months.

 

3/1/2023 – Kayla Stapleton, 26-year-old female from WOOSTER – Case No. 2022 CRC-I 000044

Convicted of Grand Theft When the Property is a Firearm or Dangerous Ordnance, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2913.02 (A)(1) and 2 additional counts. Sentenced by Judge Timothy R. VanSickle to: a term of incarceration of 1 year, 6 months.

 

3/1/2023 – Kayla Stapleton, 26-year-old female from WOOSTER – Case No. 2022 CRC-I 000145

Convicted of Theft of Drugs, F4, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2913.02(A)(1) and 2 additional counts. Sentenced by Judge Timothy R. VanSickle to: a term of incarceration of 1 year.

 

3/1/2023 – Kayla Stapleton, 26-year-old female from WOOSTER – Case No. 2022 CRC-I 000176

Convicted of Having Weapons While Under Disability, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2923.13(A)(2). Sentenced by Judge Timothy R. VanSickle to: a term of incarceration of 6 months.
