Paralegal Wanted!

The Wayne County Prosecuting Attorney is seeking a full-time Paralegal.

Description: Paralegal                               Wage/Salary: $12.85 – $14.78 per hour

Paralegal Job Purpose: Provide administrative, clerical, and legal research support to assistant prosecuting attorneys.

Paralegal Job Duties:

Draft and proofread legal documents including subpoenas, motions, and pleadings.
Provide assistance in the gathering of information, preparation of electronic media, and discovery.
Research, analyze, and interpret Ohio case law and statutes to assist attorneys in trial preparation.
Utilize case management software to monitor case progress.
Provide information by answering questions and requests from the public and law enforcement.
Maintain calendars for attorneys and coordinate scheduling.
Perform legal secretarial duties as assigned by appointing authority.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Skills/Qualifications: An Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from an accredited school, strong work ethic, ability to multitask and prioritize, attention to detail, independently conduct legal research, good writing and oral communication skills, Microsoft Office proficiency, Westlaw proficiency, strong organizational ability, professionalism, problem solving ability.
