The Wayne County Prosecuting Attorney is seeking an assistant prosecuting attorney. Duties will primarily include prosecuting misdemeanor cases in the Wayne County Municipal Court. Additional duties include preparing and presenting trainings to law enforcement, providing legal advice to law enforcement agencies regarding matters of search and seizure and developments in criminal law, aiding in the creation of search warrants, and making appropriate criminal charging decisions. However, the successful applicant may also be called upon from time to time to fill other duties that accompany being an assistant prosecuting attorney in the Wayne County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Requirements for the position include: licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio, good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to think fast on one’s feet, a strong sense of professional behavior, and impeccable integrity. This position is full time with benefits including PERS, sick leave, and vacation.
