Week of 10/5/20 Criminal Felony Covictions:

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio.  Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 10/5/2020 to 10/12/2020:

 

10/6/2020 - Christopher Clair, 41-year-old male from Wooster - Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000028

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to the following conditions: No fines and no court costs.

 

10/6/2020 - Spencer Kain, 27-year-old male from Wooster - Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000307

Convicted of Possessing Drug Abuse Instruments, M1, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.12(A). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to the following conditions: No fines or costs

 

10/7/2020 - James E. Smith, Jr., 61-year-old male from Ritman - Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000287

Convicted of Tampering with Evidence, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2921.12(A)(1). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 1 year. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department.

 

10/7/2020 - Joseph Allen McKinney, 41-year-old male from WOOSTER - Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000046

Convicted of Forgery, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2913.31(A)(2). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 14 days. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Restitution: 71.00.

 

10/7/2020 - Jason Charles Sinnett, 39-year-old male from Millersburg - Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000254

Convicted of Tampering with Evidence, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2921.12(A)(1). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol /Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Participate in Cognitive Behavioral Group.
