Week of 11/21//16 Criminal Felony Convictions:

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio.

Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 11/21/2016 to 11/28/2016:


11/22/2016 - Jeanie M. Steiner, 35 year old female from North Lawrence - Case No. 2015 CRC-I 000318

Convicted of Trafficking in Heroin, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.03(A)(1). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of (with 1 year suspended) and Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program; Complete Program at Community Based Correctional Facility (4 - 6 months): SRCCC; Participate in Cognitive Behaviorial Group; Participate in Day Reporting Program.


11/23/2016 - Christopher D. James, 44 year old male from ORRVILLE - Case No. 2016 CRC-I 000275

Convicted of Misuse of Credit Cards, M1, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2913.21(B)(2) and 5 additional counts. Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 6 months. The judge ordered: Jail sentence suspended on condition that defendant commit no further offenses for 12 months.
