Week of 4/29/19 Criminal Felony Convictions:

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio.  Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 4/29/2019 to 5/6/2019:

 

4/30/2019 - Jason Cortimilia, 38 year old male from Wooster - Case No. 2018 CRC-I 000698     Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A).  Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 3 years.  Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 60 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Participate in Cognitive Behaviorial Group.

4/30/2019 - Jason Cortimilia, 39 year old male from Wooster - Case No. 2019 CRC-I 000135     Convicted of Possession of Heroin, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A).  Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 3 years.  Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 60 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Participate in Cognitive Behaviorial Group.

4/30/2019 - Jason Robert Gibson, 21 year old male from Warsaw - Case No. 2018 CRC-I 000741     Convicted of Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2921.331(B) and one additional count.  Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of  (with 3 years suspended), Community Control sanctions in the amount of 3 years and a driver's license suspension for 3 months.  The judge ordered: 131 days credit for jail time served.  Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 80 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program; Wayne County Jail: Serve 131 Days.

5/1/2019 - Melanie Atherton, 19 year old female from Holmesville - Case No. 2018 CRC-I 000220     Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs (Methamphetamine), F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A) and one additional count.  Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years.  Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program; Complete Program at Community Based Correctional Facility (4 - 6 months): SRCCC; Participate in Cognitive Behaviorial Group.
