Week of 3/8/21 Criminal Felony Convictions::

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio. Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 3/8/2021 to 3/15/2021:

 

3/8/2021 – Cody Geitgey, 24-year-old male from ORRVILLE – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000546

Convicted of Domestic Violence, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2919.25(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 6 months.

 

3/9/2021 – Angela Smith, 37-year-old female from Akron – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000561

Convicted of Improperly Handling Firearms in A Motor Vehicle, F4, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2923.16(B). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a fine of $100.00. The judge ordered: State agreed to not objected to sealing of record if Defendant is still appropriate at a later date. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees.

 

3/10/2021 – Thomas Zeno Hamilton, 27-year-old male from BARBERTON – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000379

Convicted of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol, a Drug of Abuse or a Combination of Them – OVI, F4, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 4511.19(A)(1)(a). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 6 months, Community Control sanctions in the amount of 3 years, a fine of $1,350.00 and a driver’s license suspension for 20 years. The judge ordered: Continuous Alcohol monitoring Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Participate in Cognitive

Behavioral Group.

 

3/10/2021 – Thomas Zeno Hamilton, 27-year-old male from BARBERTON – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000390

3/10/2021 – Jordan Veemara, 21-year-old male from Orrville – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000178

Convicted of Aggravated Burglary, F1, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2911.11(A)(1) and 2 additional counts. Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 7 years and Post Release Control in the amount of 5 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: PRC Notification Given.

 

3/10/2021 – John W. Potts, 68-year-old male from RITTMAN – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000551

Convicted of Possession of Heroin, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department.

 

3/10/2021 – Donald Snell, 42-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000434

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs (Methamphetamine), F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Convicted of Burglary, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2911.12(A)(3) and 9 additional counts. Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler.
