Week of 04/12/2021 Criminal Felony Convictions::

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio. Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 4/12/2021 to 4/19/2021:

 

4/13/2021 – Anthony Ray Lies, 37-year-old male from Rittman – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000020

Convicted of Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs (Methamphetamine), F2, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.03(A)(2) and 2 additional counts. Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 2 years and Post Release Control in the amount of 6 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Forfeiture of Firearm as stated in the indictment for Counts 1, 3, and 6m as well of $352.00 as stated in indictment for Counts 1 and 3.

 

4/13/2021 – David Robert Hyatt, 35-year-old male from NORTON – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000494

Convicted of Having Weapons While Under Disability, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2923.13(A)(2). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a fine of $500.00. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Forfeiture of firearm as stated in the indictment.

 

4/14/2021 – Jerry Bowen, Jr., 28-year-old male from Mansfield – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000586

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs (Methamphetamine), F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Obtain GED or High School Diploma; Participate in Cognitive Behaviorial Group.

 

4/14/2021 – Tyler Zupancic, 19-year-old male from KILLBUCK – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000526

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs (Methamphetamine), F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Obtain GED or High School Diploma; Participate in Cognitive Behavioral Group.

 

4/14/2021 – Matthew Wiles, 33-year-old male from MARSHALLVILLE – Case No. 2019 CRC-I 000497

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Obtain GED or High School Diploma; Participate in Cognitive Behaviorial Group.
