Week of 9/6/21 Criminal Felony Convictions:

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio. Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 9/6/2021 to 9/13/2021:

 

9/7/2021 – Velton Farmer, 56-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000593

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to the following conditions: Credit for time served.

 

9/8/2021 – Amanda Good, 22-year-old female from Wooster – Case No. 2019 CRC-I 000378

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A) and one additional count. Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 55 days. The judge ordered: Credit for time served.

 

9/8/2021 – Carly Marie Krakowski, 27-year-old female from Brunswick – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000077

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A) and 2 additional counts. Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. The judge ordered: Write letters of apology Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Perform Community Service: 40 Hours; Pay Restitution: $1000.00 to Dollar General

$1088.00 to Bell Stores.; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Participate in Cognitive Behaviorial Group.

 

9/8/2021 – Johnathan Gillispie, 22-year-old male from SHREVE – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000205

Convicted of Telecommunications Harassment, M1, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2917.21(A)(3) and one additional count. Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 1 year, 6 months. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 40 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; No Contact with CALESA PHILLIPS; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment.

 

9/8/2021 – Levi Hunter, 33-year-old male from Canton – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000428

Convicted of Attempted Improperly Handling Firearms In A Motor Vehicle, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2923.02 /2923.16(B). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a fine of $300.00. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Forfeiture of AR-15 as stated in the indictment.

 

9/8/2021 – Clarence Betts, 35-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000160

Convicted of Receiving Stolen Property, F4, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2913.51(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs /Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain /Maintain Gainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program; Complete Program at Community Based Correctional Facility (4 – 6

months): SRCCC; Participate in Day Reporting Program.

 

9/8/2021 – James Short, 49-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000144

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F2, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 2 years.

 

9/8/2021 – Jeffery Clay, 44-year-old male from Lyles – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000269

Convicted of Felonious Assault, F1, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2903.11(A)(2) and one additional count. Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 8 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: PRC Notification Given.

 

9/8/2021 – Lacy Bentley, 30-year-old female from HOLMESVILLE – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000374

Convicted of Possession of Heroin, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 6 months. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: PRC Notification Given.
