Week of 10/4/21 Criminal Felony Convictions::

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio. Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 10/4/2021 to 10/11/2021:

 

10/5/2021 – Arrel Card, 25-year-old female from Canton – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000067

Convicted of Improperly Handling Firearms in A Motor Vehicle, F4, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2923.16(B). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 1 year. The judge ordered: Complete firearm safety course.  Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Random Drug Testing; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Forfeiture of involved firearm.

 

10/5/2021 – Ra’shod Norwood, 26-year-old male from Canton – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000069

Convicted of Improperly Handling Firearms in A Motor Vehicle, F4, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2923.16(B). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 1 year. The judge ordered: Complete firearm safety course.  Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Forfeiture of involved firearm.

 

10/5/2021 – Pamela Russell, 39-year-old female from WOOSTER – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000345

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to the following conditions: Credit for time served

 

10/6/2021 – James B. Miller, 49-year-old male from Akron – Case No. 2020 CRC-I 000180

Convicted of Possession of Marihuana, MM, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to the following conditions: Credit for time served

 

10/6/2021 – Jamie Hershberger, 23-year-old male from Apple Creek – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000254

Convicted of Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2921.331(B) and one additional count. Sentenced by Judge Mark K. Wiest to: a term of incarceration of 2 years, Post Release Control in the amount of 3 years, a fine of $375.00 and a driver’s license suspension for 1 year. The judge ordered: Judge will consider judicial release after 12 months Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees.
