Week of 1/30/2023 Criminal Felony Convictions:

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio. Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 1/30/2023 to 2/6/2023:

 

2/1/2023 – Emily A. Leighliter, 43-year-old female from WOOSTER – Case No. 2021 CRC-I 000087

Convicted of Assault, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2903.13(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 118 days. The judge ordered: Credit for 118 days served

 

2/1/2023 – Matthew Shifflett, 36-year-old male from WOOSTER – Case No. 2022 CRC-I 000201

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years. Additionally, the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Intensive Supervision Program; Complete Program at Community Based Correctional Facility (4 – 6 months): SRCCC; Participate in Cognitive Behavioral Group.

 

2/1/2023 – Oscar Willis Lewis, III, 54-year-old male from Wooster – Case No. 2022 CRC-I 000237

Convicted of Trafficking in a Fentanyl-Related Compound, F3, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.03(A)(1). Sentenced by Judge Timothy R. VanSickle to: a term of incarceration of 2 years, 6 months.
