Week of 6/19/23 Criminal Felony Convictions::

A criminal defendant has to have been sentenced before he or she is considered “convicted” of a criminal offense in the State of Ohio.  Below are the felony convictions that took place in the Wayne County Common Pleas Court for 6/19/2023 to 6/26/2023:

 

6/20/2023 – Emanuel A. Miller, 40-year-old male from MILLERSBURG – Case No. 2023 CRC-I 000082

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs (Methamphetamine), F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A) and one additional count. Sentenced by Judge Corey E. Spitler to: a term of incarceration of 3 days, Community Control sanctions in the amount of 2 years, a fine of $500.00 and a driver’s license suspension for 1 year. Additionally the following conditions were imposed: Pay Court Costs / Probation Fees; Standard Terms: Obey All Laws & Probation Rules, Follow Directions of Probation Officer; Perform Community Service: 50 Hours; Random Drug Testing; Alcohol / Drug / Mental Health Counseling as Directed by Probation Department; Obtain / Maintain Gainful Employment; Participate in Cognitive Behavioral Group.

 

6/20/2023 – John Edward Hoyt, 56-year-old male from CRESTON – Case No. 2022 CRC-I 000426

Convicted of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F5, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2925.11(A). Sentenced by Judge Timothy R. VanSickle.

 

6/20/2023 – Tyler Gaines, 19-year-old male from ORRVILLE – Case No. 2022 CRC-I 000414

Convicted of Felonious Assault, F2, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 2903.11(A)(2). Sentenced by Judge Timothy R. VanSickle.
